As a graduate from the University of Toronto in political science and economics, Rob began his working career as a securities trader on the Vancouver stock exchange from the trading floor of Davidson Partners in Toronto. Realizing the possibility of a preferable career path, he moved into Real Estate sales with Darrell Kent Real Estate in 1982, a small boutique brokerage in the Cabbagetown neighbourhood of Toronto. In 2005 Rob joined Coast Realty Group in Nanaimo working from the Great National Land Building on Chapel St.
In 2007 Rob and his partner moved to Montreal for ten years, owning and managing a guest house called La Loggia Art B&B in the centre of the downtown core which became a top five Montreal B&B over that time period. Deciding to move back to Vancouver Island in 2017 he came back with Royal LePage Nanaimo Realty at one of the former offices, and with many of his former colleagues of Coast Realty Group on Long Lake.
Rob also has a background in fund raising, capital campaign management and not for profit foundation development. Passionate about economics and the stock market, as an independent investor, he has made a hobby of following the markets for trends and value. A fitness enthusiast, he is a certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise, passionate about cycling, he always has a good bike on hand for road and nature trailing. He enjoys spending summer afternoons after work tending the garden. Rob and his partner have their residence in the University District of Nanaimo In an historic building from the coal mining era where they also own and operate The Vancouver Island Sculpting Studio.
